SUMMER READING PROGRAM:  WEEK 7 - "LIFE'S A ZOO"   THE MOVIE "THOR: THE DARK WORLD" WILL BE SHOWN FOR TEENS ON MONDAY, JULY 21, AT 2:00 PM.  ON WEDNESDAY, JULY 23, NATURE'S NICHE WILL BRING LIVE ANIMALS NATIVE TO THE RAIN FOREST STARTING AT 1:15 PM.  THE FAMILY MOVIE THIS WEEK HAS CHANGED.  COME SEE "RIO 2" SHOWING AT 2:00 PM ON FRIDAY, JULY 25, AND AT 10:00 AM ON SATURDAY, JULY 26. THERE IS STILL TWO MORE WEEKS OF READING FUN AHEAD!

SUMMER READING PROGRAM:  WEEK 8 - "BUILDING BLOCKS OF AWESOME" THIS IS A BUSY WEEK FOR OUR TEEN READERS.  ON MONDAY, JULY 28, TEEN CAN CREATE 8-BIT ART WITH PERLER BEADS BEGINNING AT 6:00 PM.  THE FINAL "TEEN BATTLE OF THE BOOKS" COMPETITION WILL TAKE PLACE IN WEST BEND ON WEDNESDAY, JULY 30, AT 2:00 PM.  GO HARTFORD!!!  WEDNESDAY WILL ALSO BE A CRAFT PROGRAM AT 2:30 WHERE THE KIDS CAN BUILD THEIR OWN CANDY CATAPULTS.  THE FAMILY MOVIE IS "CLOUDY WITH A CHANCE OF MEATBALLS 2" SHOWN ON FRIDAY AT 2:00 PM, AND SATURDAY AT 10:00 AM.

WATCH FOR THE SUMMER PROGRAM GRAND FINALE COMING ON SATURDAY, AUGUST 9.  THE LIBRARY WILL BE VISITED BY THE 501st LEGION OF STAR WARS CHARACTERS AND THE ANNUAL ICE CREAM SOCIAL WILL BE HELD.  9:00 AM TO 1:00 PM

WEEKLY BEDTIME STORY HOURS ARE BACK ON TUESDAY EVENINGS FROM JUNE 10 TO JULY 29 FROM 7:00 TO 7:20 PM.  PAJAMAS AND STUFFED FRIENDS ARE WELCOMED AT ANY TIME.

THE PRESCHOOL STORY TIME WILL BE HELD EVERY WEDNESDAY MORNING FROM JUNE 11 TO JULY 30 AT 10:15 AM.  GREAT STORIES, GAMES AND CRAFTS FOR AGES 3 TO 5.

STASH THE READING DOG IS ON VACATION DURING THE SUMMER MONTHS.  HE WILL BE BACK TO HEAR YOUR STORIES IN SEPTEMBER. 

The Friends of the Library are proud to offer a Literacy Program for Hartford area people.   Appointments may be made with "Learning Partners" volunteers to assist with reading skills, computer help, job skills, English language assistance and basic homework aid for high schoolers.  For specific information, please call 673-3341 or 673-2903.

ALL PROGRAMS ARE HELD IN THE LIBRARY'S COMMUNITY ROOM UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED.

Summer At The Library

Summer Reading Program Online Sign-up & Reading Record Forms - You can sign-up in the library or online using the appropriate form for each child being registered. If you sign-up online, a reading record will be made for use during your next library visit. Please stop by the Children's Desk to turn in take-home reading slips. At this time, only teen readers may submit reading progress online. Thank you!

Please download and print the appropriate reading record to bring on your next library visit OR pick up forms to use from the Children's Desk at the library.

* Teens: Turn in your pages read to enter for Superdraw raffle tickets! And, additional prizes earned for every 350 pages read up to 2000. Earnning Superdraw tickets is unlimited :) Form open until Friday, August 8!

ENJOY THE SUMMER MONTHS, AND BE SURE TO HAVE THE CHILDREN CHECK OUT ALL OF THE ACTIVITIES BEING OFFERED BY THE YOUTH LIBRARY DURING THE "FIZZ, BOOM, READ" AND "SPARK A REACTION" READING PROGRAMS THROUGH AUGUST 9.

THE FRIEND'S OF THE LIBRARY FALL PROGRAM SCHEDULE WILL KICK OFF ON WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 10, WITH BOB WILLGING TALKING ABOUT THE HISTORY OF WISCONSIN DEER HUNTING. MORE SESSIONS ON OCT. 15, NOV. 12 AND DEC. 3.
